Sathya Sai Global Healthcard camp in Nepal
A team of 61 members from SSIO UK, in close cooperation with SSIO Nepal, conducted a Sathya Sai Global Healthcare Camp in Nepal between March 14-20, 2017. Camps were conducted in the 2015 earthquake affected areas of Baluwa, Bharatpur, Pokhara and Kathmandu. 8071 patients attended the camps and were offered consultations and necessary treatment by specialists in yarious departments of General Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Minor Surgery, Gynaecology, Pediatrics, ENT, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Dental, Optometry, Radiology, Pharmacy and Lab investigations.
Thirty St. Jude's Heart Valves were donated free of cost to the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre in Kathmandu, for treating the poor and needy patients, as part of the ' Sai Hrudayam- Connecting Hearts' project of SSIO UK. New Ultrasound scanners, ECG machines, Mobile Dental Units and Ophthalmic equipment were installed at the Sathya Sai Health Centres in Pokhara and Kathmandu during this camp. Narayana Seva was conducted for about 9000 rural people. Two hundred handmade Baby Packs called ‘Sai Bundles of Joy’ were distributed to mothers with newborn babies. Sri. Gagan Thapa, Union Health Minister of Nepal, inaugurated the Kathmandu Camp.
